You are teaching your child organizational skills so that when they go off to college, then you can tell them to take their filing cabinet with them. But who knows with times like these, then you can expect some of your kids to ask to move back in. Do not take a long break after graduating high school to start college because you can see that too many too a longer break after high school graduation and cannot afford to live on their own. I will still argue both "employment and education" solve housing issues.
